Selection of underwater photos

Please have a look at my on-line gallery presenting a selection of stock photos from seas and oceans, underwater or above surface: marine & sea life, divers, bubbles, shipwrecks, concepts. (hit this)

Beyond my passion, underwater photography became one of my specialties and more recently with the Nikon D7000 (in an Aquatica housing)  I'm experiencing underwater video.

I must admit that having in one housing the opportunity of shooting both footage or stills, depending on the mood and the subject, is a great opening for the creation of new underwater images!

Of course this assumes adequate lighting, so continuous video. I opted for the Fa&mi halogen headlights because its warmer than the LED. Disadvantage: need of strong batteries (the slim9 is a 9amh for 4kgs), which overload my luggages. Indeed, the weight on land of the complete system is over 10 kgs!

I also have to change the strobes. I'll soon replace my old but trustful Nikon SB-800 housed iinside a heavy SEACAM (2-3 kgs!) with the very light Inon Z-240 (69 grams undersea!)
So enjoy my stills gathered throughout the world in15 years of diving!
As you might have noticed, video clips are coming soon!

Timelapses: my new passion!

Those days I'm totally devoted to Motion! It means video footage and overall something I had recently discovered: Timelapse clips!
I just love this because you get something unique, unpredictable before the final editing, and from still shots you get motion, and what a (e) motion!
I really felt in love with Timelapses clips and one of those who convinced me that it is definetly something for me is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk6_hdRtJOE

There's also another wonderfull timelapse clip from Terje Sørgjerd right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBWPCvdv8Bk&NR=1

Both just makes me dream that one day I'll realize something like this. A long long way to go and
of course, I'll post mines when I'll have something comparable to show but right now, I'm still in a learning curve, buying gears, drilling, mounting stepper motor on sliders, buying gears again, thinking, deflickering, experimenting and having a lot of fun...!
My only regret?
Not having explored/discovered this discipline sooner!
But as the Wiseman use to say: 'It is never too late' and I must agree since my whole life was only guided by passions!
So here's one more...!
